Kalachakra means “Wheel of Time” which refers to the presentation of cycles of time within the Kalachakra Tantra, and is also the name of one of the Buddhist deities that represent particular aspects of the Enlightened Mind. Sand mandalas are performed as a cultural display in universities or other institutions by traveling monks. Upon completion, they are destroyed in a ritual meant to honor the impermanent nature of reality. ... It is a two dimensional depiction of the three-dimensional palace of the deity Kalachakra. The stupa was built on the ground of the Kalachakra Kalapa Centre in southwest Styria, Austria. It is an exact copy of the stupa built at the residence of the Dalai Lama in Dharamsala, India. The stupa was constructed by Geshe Tenzin Dhargye, from December 2000 to October 2002.
